Missing You

FredPeyer

Still feeling your tender lips

On my skin

Your scent quietly lingering

In my nostrils

Remembering the soft touch

Of your fingers

Imagining the fine silkiness

Of your hair

Hearing the delightful sound

Of your whispers

All alone cuddling with your

Old sweater

Dreaming of the many times

I held you close

Promising each other to be

Together forever

Never realizing that

The day could come

When you would be

Taken from me

Very good emotive write, glad that it is form your mind and not from your life.

Thanks Goldfinch! I had my fair share of losses, but not recently.

      Good write Fred.

      • FredPeyer

Thank you, orchidee. Maybe one of your poems could lessen the sadness!

Others may disagree but I always think the mark of a good poet is being able to write from imagination as well as from experience- this proves it.

        • FredPeyer

Your comment means a lot to me! Thank you Michael!

This is always the way when sudden death takes our dearly beloved - your pen wrote the truth about senses picking up vibes from the past - a read to bring me near tears Fred.

          • FredPeyer

Thank you so much for your kind comment, didn't mean to tear you up, Fay!

Thanks M, I think it is usually the little things we remember!

Sometimes memories is all we have left. The good ones can warm us and help push aside the void.

                • FredPeyer

Thanks lasergraph, and thankfully, we have a tendency to remember only the good ones!

Yes Fred, sometimes to write we need to put ourselves in an imaginary world. Having the feelings are if it was real. Great writing.

Thank you Malu, if we wanna be writers we better have a good imagination. 🙂

It happens FRED and good to be prepared when it does ~ even if only poetically ~ Most sad love poems hark back to the past or lament the present. Few project to the future ! This is gem of nostalgia to come ~ RIAN

                          • FredPeyer

Thanks so much Brian, for your nice comment! And sorry for the late thank you!

An imagined tragedy in the midst of a flaming love. Really the stuff of nighmares. Joni Mitchell wrote a song which i have to say shouted at me on completion of reading your authors note then your piece itself "why do you dream flat tires?"
