MUSIC FOR A WHILE ~ would sound
MOZART Sonata in the plaintive night
And inside my toutured mind resound
Convincing White is Black & Black is White !
MUSIC FOR A TIME ~ will echo on
VANGELLIS sound track ~ Chariots of Fire
On moment here ~ and then ephemeral gone
The haunting sound of Flute & Lute & Lyre
MUSIC FOREVER ~ mind of mine will haunt
When CHOPIN's mute ~ and silent PURCELL's aire
Their classic sounds ~ that I once did flaunt
But now my HARPSCHORD sits silent ~ bare

Good write and tribute Brian, I have listened to all classical composers from Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern and have albums from all those periods and have enjoyed them all.
And then we have jazz!

Thanks FAY I agree. The ability to compose and play Music and appreciate is indee a DIVINE GIFT to te whole Human Race. Music is universal and we are fortunate to live in an age when it is available at the touch of a button. I have about 500 multigenre (Beethoven to the Beatles) CD's and I love CLASSIC FM ! My DAD is a Classical Pianist and several of my extended Family are Professional Classical Musicians. Music reminds us ~ in a melancholy way ~ of every stage of our life ! Yours as ever BRIAN

Thanks CHRIS ~ YES Music makes the World go round and CD's are perfect and portable ! I have always lived in Towns and Cities with great Orchestras like "THE ROYAL LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC" AND CONCERTS AT A PRICE MY FAMILY COULD AFFORD. MOZART and his ilk set the standard ~ The Beatles & Elvis etc just modified it for popular human consumption ~ but it is all MUSIC ! Tortured mind resounds but life still hears the tender music of life and love of God to get recovery from obstacles and stress. Classic sounds of music vibrate mind and give new essence. Classical Musicians who have faithful perseverance have kept them alive. Amen! May God bless them all. Excellent poem is shared here.

You know Brian, I love the music, but what I find so awesome is how these composers could 'hear' the whole orchestra in their minds. Especially Beethoven, after going deaf, is an incredible example of this God-given talent.

I love and play music myself. Though I typically play more jazz and listen to rock, classical can be very cool as well. As long as it sends me somewhere I am happy.

Thanks AZURA ~ JAZZ is great Genre and different every time you hear it ! I once played GUITAR in a JAZZ GROUP and all i had for music wss a list of chords. So when it came to my SOLO it was Ok as long as I was "IN CHORD" it was OK but it was different every time i played it BUT there would be echoes of SWEET GEORGIA BROWN or whatever the tune was !
