I used to feel like I was
enslaved by my traumas
Thought about the old
but unending dramas
They would come at night
to enslave my dreams
But love has released me
Let go of it all it seems
Now the past that haunts me
Is not allowed, but images here or there
My childhood past is not allowed
to hurt, offend, pain or scare.
I have love beside me
When it comes to my nightmares
I don't have to be afraid
When I wake up, my love is there

I really love this poem, Christina! There is nothing we can do about our past, it is water under the bridge. And just like that water flows downstream, we have to let our past go. You said it so beautiful. The last stanza touched me. We always talk about love in our heart, but you reminded me that love is also beside me, ready to step in whenever help is needed. Great poem!

I love this so much, and reflects my journey from the last two years. Not only do I have what you have but I understand for my self that I could one day be alone again and my lady has shown me I could cope with that, like I have all the rest of the times.
To be set free with this love but with no over attachment, from my self, due to my childhood pain, is helping in all aspects of my life. I still have a away to go but a breath of air you give with your words to help me on this road.
