Ode to Music.

Goldfinch60

There it is again,

That sound,

That sound that surrounds me,

Brings me so much pleasure.

Without it my life would have no meaning.

It has always been with me

In its various guises,

I cannot remember it not being there.

All emotions it gives me

As it surrounds my life,

Invades my soul.

It will always be with me,

Be with me for eternity,

As music and I,

Go towards infinity.

A fine wrote Gold. But I wish they would fix the organs in some churches. It ruins the hymns. Costs too much to repair I suppose, and a lot of Victorian churches, so the organs are ageing too.
I heard one recently, repaired they said. still sounded a bit off.

    • Goldfinch60

Some organs can be a bit rough but the singing must rise above that.

I'm with you Andy but it must be quality music whatever that is.

      • Goldfinch60

Quality music is in the ear of the beholder. Even Mozart had his critics "The famous complaint of Emperor Joseph II about The Marriage of Figaro - "too many notes, Mozart".
I give all music a chance and believe me I listen to some very strange music sometimes, if I put on music by a jazz group called Weather Report Joyce walks out of the room

Then I must look up Weather Report - probably on youtube

Goldie, I am sorry, but you made a big mistake here.
The youtube clip is so incredibly beautiful, Anna is so gorgeous, her voice so incredible, that I had hardly any strength left to properly read and evaluate your poem. I want to go to infinity with Anna!!!!

You will be at the of a very long queue, but she will be there. I have seen her via a live broadcast in an opera and she is sublime.
