Whenever I've needed my husband
In any situation, he's there
He's been there through thick and thin
and deep desperation and despair
Once I let him go free
But he came back to me
We may not always agree
But our love is true, you see
We are quite happy together
Bright sunny days ahead
Yes, it's far from perfect
But I'm glad it's him I wed
My advice for couples everywhere-
Please never go to bed mad!
If you do you might find yourself
reminiscing about the love you once had!

Christina, well written and true! Marriage is always a work in progress. I do feel exactly the same way about my wife.
And as far as your last stanza is concerned, we have been trying to do that all throughout our 41 year marriage. Did not always succeed though!
It started out as my grandparents advice....they were married over 60 years til grandpa passed. Thanks for your wonderful review and compliment!

Good write and so true. The last words that my wife and I say to each other each night are "I love you" and it has been that way for nearly thirty six years.
