Once More Her Hero.

Goldfinch60

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

Came the noise from above.

Had my wife fallen again?

I raced up the stairs,

“Are you alright?”

I shouted.

“No I am not!”

She replied!

“Come here quickly!”

So I raced into the room,

“It was coming at me!

Coming straight at me!

Make it go!”

I looked down

And saw my wife’s monster

Just sitting there,

Doing no harm.

I just picked up the spider

And gently put it out of the window.

Panic over,

I was once more her hero.

A fine write Gold. lol. We was 1066 heroes. Well, you were. I ruined it all!

I can never understand the illogical dislike of spiders - there is a large one stung across the bay tree outside our conservatory who I speak to every morning - I call him Sydney. But the horror of them is so very real for many people. Fine write Andy.

Is talking to spiders in the same sphere as talking to trees?
      Thank you Michael.

      • Michael Edwards

No- you can spin a real yarn with spiders, whereas trees are barking mad.

A smile in the read for me Goldie - so many have fears of such cobwebby creatures. Hope your dear wife stays spiderless after her hero came to the rescue.

Thanks you Fay, I am glad I brought a smile to you, my day is now made.

I just knew you wouldn't stomp on the spider and kill it off! 🙂 I'm the same. Well, I might kill wasps though.

                    Yes Orchi, I agree.

What I see in this beautiful poem of yours, Goldfinch, is not the spider. It is the love for your wife shown in every line.
You are a good man, Charlie Brown!

                          • Goldfinch60

                            I respect your words Linus.
