THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Came the noise from above.
Had my wife fallen again?
I raced up the stairs,
“Are you alright?”
I shouted.
“No I am not!”
She replied!
“Come here quickly!”
So I raced into the room,
“It was coming at me!
Coming straight at me!
Make it go!”
I looked down
And saw my wife’s monster
Just sitting there,
Doing no harm.
I just picked up the spider
And gently put it out of the window.
Panic over,
I was once more her hero.

A fine write Gold. lol. We was 1066 heroes. Well, you were. I ruined it all!
I can never understand the illogical dislike of spiders - there is a large one stung across the bay tree outside our conservatory who I speak to every morning - I call him Sydney. But the horror of them is so very real for many people. Fine write Andy.
Is talking to spiders in the same sphere as talking to trees?
Thank you Michael.
No- you can spin a real yarn with spiders, whereas trees are barking mad.
A smile in the read for me Goldie - so many have fears of such cobwebby creatures. Hope your dear wife stays spiderless after her hero came to the rescue.
Thanks you Fay, I am glad I brought a smile to you, my day is now made.
I'm picturing you in a cape with a Superman pose. Goldie to the rescue. Great poem. ; )
I thought that I had kept that a secret.
Thank you AP.
guess not, huh? ; )
Keep that shining armor polished, good knight! Great tale of rescuing your fair damsel ... an inspiration to knights everywhere.
Good write, Goldie!
The armour glistens in today's sunlight. Thank you Louis.
Alls well that ends well.
The White Knight one again
victorious in battle,
Thank you Collin, it was a hard battle but somebody had to do it.
I just knew you wouldn't stomp on the spider and kill it off! 🙂 I'm the same. Well, I might kill wasps though.
Yes Orchi, I agree.
Oh! I love to do this to my guys. Make them feel strong and necessary. I say, oh! I can not go outside because is a wasps flying there. And they say, don't worry mom I take care of that. So cute. Cute as your poem Goldie.
Thanks Malu, your guys are strong and obviously loving towards you.
lol I'm the Spider-Man of my house also . Cool poem
It is good to be the hero occasionally. Thank you WL.
Thanks Goldfinch! I really enjoyed your poem. I've been working on a poem with spiders too. I'll probably publish it in the next couple days. Thanks again!
Thank you WC, I'll look forward to reading your poem.
What I see in this beautiful poem of yours, Goldfinch, is not the spider. It is the love for your wife shown in every line.
You are a good man, Charlie Brown!
I respect your words Linus.
