MAKE ME MORE LIKE AN APPLE TREE !

BRIAN & ANGELA

SLOW ME DOWN LORD

Make me more like a TREE

I looked at my Apple Tree in Winter

Just a Trunk bare branches & twigs

Shivering but Shimmering under frost & snow

My Apple Tree tree was happy & patient

Waiting for the Spring & Summer !

One Spring Morning I was tidying the lawn

And my Tree was transformed with green buds

And leaves starting to unfold ~ but no Apples

First came the Pink Apple Blossom ~ so so pretty

And then as Spring turned to Summer ~ no hurry

Tiny Apples started to form & grew & grew & grew !

As Summer turned to Autumn ~ they were ready

Blackberry & Apple Pies ~ Food of the GODS

The apples were picked polished and preserved !

Soon the leaves turned yellow ~ red ~ brown

And silently fell underneath the tree ~ its job done

Bare for the Winter ~ BUT ~ ready for Spring !

What a charming comparison you make here Brian - being likened to a tree with its patient endurance of all seasons etc makes a worthy subject - a lovely read.

Good job Brian! I love the pink apple blossoms in spring before the apples come--I'm enjoying now the apples after the harvest. And now the leaves are turning. Just like your poem! Hugs-Christina

A fine ode to the unrelenting pace of nature, and what it can teach us. I appreciated this one, Brian!

I see the circle of life in your fine poem, Brian. Times of plenty, times of nothing, death and rebirth.
            Very nicely done!

Reading your poem makes me think and ask why we are the most important Gods creation if we are the ones most mixed up. Most of us are more like drunken ants 🐜 not knowing what to do. It is like we don't have a clear mission, a truly understanding why we are here. I observe nature and it is like it is perfect. Everything is so beautiful and smooth. Before I was always looking for answer but then I thought I was wrong doing it and begin to live a lot more like nature. Just living day by day without too much expectation but accepting what comes and not trying to understand either. Just living. What else? Maybe I've found my mission and the purpose of life is just live. I add one purpose and for me it is the most important: it is love. I love you baby Brian. And the whole universe.
