My Heart Aches When You're Gone

Christina8

In the morning when hubby and kids leave me alone

Some of my day is spent on the computer or phone

Some of it I spend cleaning--I'm in the zone!

But my heart aches

I pick up the toys my daughter left behind

Already wish we could put the morning on rewind

I wonder what other treasures my daughter left me to find

But my heart misses you

Maybe I've had coffee with a friend

But that will come to an end

I can't wait to come home to you and tend

Because my heart knows it's almost time!

And then you all come rushing through the door!

I ask you how your day was. Sit and tell me I implore!

And hug you all and love you to your core!

Because my heart is happy!

Thanks CHRIS ~ The GOOD BOOK says "God put the lonely in FAMILIES" and He has given you a lovely Family ~ so I can understand the loneliness when they are out at Work & School. At least they all come home every night ! Blessings & Hugs ~ BRIAN @@@@@@@

A beautiful write of a beautiful family Christina! It reminds me of the good old days. Now they're all grown up in different parts of the world with their own families to raise. And the circle of life continues!

Yes, enjoy every moment! They grow up so fast! When they were little, I wondered what they would be like as adults! Well, now I know! They are fine young people...but I do miss when the time they were young...especially from 0-3years old! That was the best...for me!

Beautiful, tender poem, Christina. I agree with Laura, enjoy the kids as long as you can. Now I have to fly five hours to go and see them and the house is kind of empty with only the two of us. But there is happiness too in just enjoying each other.

If I could do it again I'd home school them. Wonderful writing, maybe you should get a dog to walk and train ๐Ÿ˜‰
