Infectious Smile

Accidental Poet

 Infectious Smile

When Sharon smiles

She could make the stars jealous

Evident as they twinkle

Growing all the more zealous

Such as I

The young lad of ten

In silent awe of her

Wondering where I’d been

That before that day

I’d known nothing to speak of

Suddenly I found myself

Fallen into love

She smiled and halted me

Dead in my tracks

All train of thought

Amid heart and soul a new pact

That this girl

This smile will live in me

For all my days

Every second eternally

For when Sharon smiled

Within me the sweetest of change

From a boy to young man

This one girl could rearrange

Year after year

The course of countless sundials

I’ll never forget

Sharon’s infectious smile

Thank you so much Kat. Thrilled that you like it. Finally I've been able to post a video with a poem.

    • Accidental Poet

I just went to Youtube, found the video I wanted to use, and copy & pasted the first code I saw into the Youtube slot in the MPS page for publish a poem. This is just my first successful attempt, so tomorrow I'll try it again. Hope it works for you too.

      AP,
Your poem is infectious! Kris Kristoffersonā€™s video was a perfect accompaniment to your poem! Great job you did!

Thank you Laura, and your compliment is very appreciated.

That is so amazing! What a testament to your love. I remember the poem to Sharon, I didn't realize you were together all these years! Congrats! Wonderful poem!!! And video

        • Accidental Poet

I've not seen Sharon in 46 years since she moved away in 1971 when we were both only 14 years old. And it was really a one sided love. But I did tell her before she left. Thanks for reading Christina.

            Good write and video AP.

          • orchidee

Did you do copy and paste of the title bar, when posting the video?

            • Accidental Poet

Title bar? No, I hit "share" and a code appeared, I copied that into the Youtube slot in MPS Publish a poem. Then wahlah, it worked.

              • orchidee

Ahh I see. I myself usually choose the title bar (the code) of the You Tube videos, then do 'copy' and 'paste'.

I guess it's all point of view WL. For me its always been a blessing for the short time she was in my life has grown with me as I got older. Those four years I look back on with the biggest smile. Thanks for reading WL.
