Why Don't Mornings Last All Day.

Goldfinch60

I arise in the morning

Full of life,

Full of energy,

I can achieve anything.

As the day progresses

The energy wanes,

The trials of the day

Pull me down,

Until that time at last

When the bed calls

And I go to sleep

Knowing that my good morning

Will be there when I awake.

Why can’t my mornings

Last all day long?

You got an extra hour of morning soon. The one you didn't have at the end of March. What more can we want?! heehee.
I'm the same sometimes, yet can sit down of an evening other days. Not much on telly, and turn to writing.

    • Goldfinch60

That extra hour is owed to me so it's about time it was repaid.

Or as a grouch said: 'Good morning? What's good about it?!' lol

Good morning to you too, ANDY!
Great write for a great read!

I’ve been loving my mornings more and more these days! Like an addict, I turn on my phone and go directly to MPS to quench my poetic thirst!
After an hour or so, I brew myself a cup of coffee and prep myself to face another day!

Oh I know this one - after lunch I can sleep for England but the mornings - that's the best time. If I don't start a job in morning it won't get done!!

          • Goldfinch60

Very true Michael, I always go upstairs to listen to music and read in the afternoon. At least that is what the excuse is!

never a moment wasted is a great idea, especially the mornings after the body has rested, the mind ready to go and the coffee is smelling beautiful. let's rock n roll on these early morns.

                • Goldfinch60

Yep, I am up to rock n rolling in the mornings.

I too find peace and satisfaction in the mornings, but enjoy a totally different experience in the evenings when I do most of connecting with Muse.
Well written poem, as usual, Goldie!

Great poem, Goldfinch! And you are right, the mornings disappear much too fast! Even though I usually get up at 5:30am, the next time I look at my watch it is noon. Crazy! And the older I get, the faster time seems to move.

                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you Fred I get up a little later normally between 5:45 and 6:00 and as you say it soon become noon, it is crazy.
