I’ve often thought of how
Aliens would perceive Earthlings
The first impressions made
At an Interstellar hearing
They walk the Earth
Like they own it
Little do they know
The respect they owe it
The way they treat each other
Infected with ignorance
Self-centered and brash
An aurora of arrogance
Egotistical fools
Riding a wave bigotry
A religion of supremacy
Blind to equality
Purposeful assaults
On innocent victims
Laughing all the while
They punch and kick them
Taking that which
Belongs to another
Where is the love?
Between sister & brother
False accusations
Without the facts
A fabrication of lies
Deceitful random attacks
But not all humans
On this planet Earth
Are heartless and uncaring
Many are the sweetest since birth
Better keep an eye on this lot
They’re starting to travel out to space
Guess we’ll have to make room for
This strange new face
So be cautious
Before you value their worth
Not all Humans are friendly
Weirdos from planet Earth

Great write AP!
Your poem is a great
offering to us!
An offer that
makes us reflect upon
ourselves and others!
Loved the line...
āAn aurora of arroganceā.
Enjoyed the read!
Thank you!
And thank you for reading Laura. Maybe man can improve on his intergalactic image before the next hearing.
YES! Thereās always room
for improvement!
Good write AP. It shows both sides, the good and the bad. Maybe it's human nature to attack anything unusual, or alien, even literally alien? Is that why E.T. went home? Did he turn round and get cheesed off with humans?! lol.
I'd like to think ET went home because he missed his family. But mankind could be just a bit more hospitable and friendly. We here on this side of the pond have a real buffoon in the pilot's seat. I fear he and that other nut job in North Korea will push the "gotcha" button and end it all.
I see what you mean AP - but God forbid! Literally, not just saying casually 'OMG' (Oh My God).
And, indeed, as is said, though not from my neck of the woods: 'There's nowt so queer as folk!'
This one resonates fully with my perspective of how we are viewed by them. Brilliant offering, AP!
Thanks for reading Louis. True, we need a lot of improving to be a worthy inhabitant of the universe.
This cleverly written verse gives much food for thought and the need to improve before we are put under the gaze of wise beings from outer space. Great read A.P.
Thanks for reading Fay. Such a shame that the loving, caring decent people and all the rest of life on this planet should have to suffer because of greedy selfish tyrant predators as there are on this planet.
Thanks AP! Your poem is out-of-this-world!
Yes wc, it might just be. Thanks for reading.
Great write AP
Thanks Michael.
Your great poem explains exactly why we will never see Aliens landing on our planet, or if they do, why they are gone so fast! To them our planet probably looks like one big asylum!
Thanks Fred, just ideas bouncing off the walls of my crazy mind.
Really good write AP. "Little do they know the respect they owe it" was my favorite line. Because it's so true!
Thanks Christina. I know, it's a crazy concept, I had to get it out of my system.
AP Iād be so embarrassed if they said take me to your leader .....alas if thatās the best we can do they wouldnāt want to know us anyway
I agree Bill. There'd be traffic signs at the edge of the solar system
"WARNING: AVOID EARTH AT ALL COSTS"
this is so thoughtful and very well written, wow!
Thank you for the read and compliment anonym.
There certainly are weirdos on earth. No need to worry about the aliens though they are just watching and laughing at us and when we destroy ourselves they will then come down to help the survivors pick up the pieces and form a wonderful planet.
Watching and laughing I'm sure. But I hope they raise an eyebrow at us poets though. Oh right, Aliens don't have eyebrows. Oh well.
and i have met a few
And I as well.
