ACT OF TERRORISM ~ NEW YORK ~ NEW YORK ~ An Acrostic Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

ACT  OF  TERRORISM

Can anybody feel safe

Today anywhere ?  NO !

Open opportunity

For anybody to strike

Terrorists use anything

Everyday things ~ Planes

Road vehicles ~ things we all use

Really neutral things ~ BUT

On the Terrorists hands ~ they

Really become deadly weapons

I LOVE NEW YORK ~ AMEN

Some day it will all end ~ EVIL

MUST not prevail against GOOD !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN

Well said Brian - another outrage - and I guess there will be no end to it all.

    Agree with Michael!

Thanks MICHAEL for a positive comment. When I commented on your Poem it occurred to me that "Acts of Terrorism" had become an "Everyday occurrence" which is a sad comment on today's society ! We have everything but lack compassion ! I'm in reflective mode today ~ Yours BRIAN

Good write Brian. Maybe I should look into some Psalms that don't lend themselves to the genre of joyful hymns? I could just SAY them, write them as poems. There are quite a number. The Psalmist's call down vengeance, punishment, etc on their enemies. A little different to 'All things bright and beautiful' I know!
Fro example: 'Happy shall they be, who shall take your little ones and dash them against the stones'. i.e. who murder their enemies children. Yet the Jews had experienced the same, or worse, themselves, from their enemies. It may be left out from Psalm 137 sometimes, as an embarrassment. Not that it should be tit-for-tat. It's more Old Testament-type thought. Though we might wish it at times too, in the current New Testament days.

Thanks STEVE ~ As you know I am an OPTIMIST & an ENCOURAGER (like all Liverpudlians ~ as Ken Dodd said "You have to be a Comedian to live here" !). But today even I have struck a mournful gong and posted in requiem BLACK ! As a Queen's Scout ~ I smile and whistle under all difficulties ~ but some days I just feel like crying ~ BRIAN

Tragic the time when outraged the populace becomes afraid - well expressed the recent atrocities in New York Brian.

Thanks FAY ~ What they try to do is strike terror in all our hearts ! But you and I believe in a Higher Power ~ which always gives us inner peace ~ AMEN. Thanks for your comment ~ Yours as ever BRIAN

      Buongiorno
      Caro Amico, BRIAN!
Today truly is a sad day!
      Anytime this carnage
      happens is sad!
      However, this
      is too close to home!
      My mom lives five minutes
      away from where it happened!
I had just stepped out to
      do some food shopping,
      when it all happened!
      Too close to home! Very
      frightening! Thank God
      she did not have the
      TV on! She would’ve
      panicked! At 95 years
old, I don’t know how much
      more she can endure. She
      witnessed the HORRORS
      of 09/11!!!!
      She still cannot come
      to terms with that one!
      NO ONE CAN!!!!
      Saluti e abbracci...
      ~Laura~

BUON GIORNO LAURA ~ I love New York and visited Ground Zero in 2002 and the Memorials two years ago ! I love NY and New Yorkers so friendly and sassy ! That this Act of Terrorism was so close struck terror in the hearts of people who live in Manhattan and remember 911 like it was yesterday. Those of us who Trust in God have an inner peace in the midst of such mindless anarchy ! I have lit a big candle for NEW YORK because she\'s worth it ~ AMEN ! Abbracci d\'Amore ~ BRIAN Tu Amico Caro !

          TI RINGRAZIO CON TUTTO
          IL MIO CUORE!

I agree Brian, poem well said. They want us to not feel safe going anywhere but then they win. So glad I don't live in a big city! Thanks for posting on this! Hugs-Christina

THANKS CHRIS ~ Likewise I'm glad I don't live in LONDON ~ 30 miles away is close enough ! I really like NEW YORK and feel sorry they have been targeted again ! We are praying for the Families of the Dead (five from Argentina ! ) and the Survivors and their Families ~ Heavenly Hugs ~ BRIAN

Good will prevail, but it may be some time as we have already waited since the coming of homo sapiens on this planet.

THANKS ANDY ~ Due to envy ~ jealousy ~ hatred & pride Individuals and nations are dissatisfied because they have "less" than their neighbour. The leads to acts of terrorism (often due to Religious / Lifestyle differences) and wars ! It was and will be ever thus until Christ returns ~ AMEN ~ BRIAN
