ANOTHER CRUDY

Michael Edwards

Too early to be late

I come through the gate

and close it quite firmly

too late to be early.

This is simply great! Brought to mind "Hawaiian Time" which is always 30 minutes late!
So let me think, if I am too early to be late and too late to be early...I must be right on time!

You\'ve got it Fred - as my Dad always (annoyingly) said when asked the time:
'It's half past kissing time - time to kiss again!'

This is so funny! A lot of times when I am being asked the time, I simply say: "It's half past". Very few then ask 'half past what?' But I do like your dad's answer much better, and it is definitely NOT annoying! (Well maybe a bit after the 50th time 🙂 )

Clever write Michael, we will all go through that gate eventually, pearly or otherwise.

We sure will - when our time's up.

You coming or going there?! Good write and pic Michael. Is it half past Autumn now?

I think it's quarter to fireplace according to the mantel clock.

Perfectly timed Michael. And a really nice image, yours ofcourse.

Good Michael Morning ! Thanks for Crudy and the Pen & Ink study. Time has always fascinated me as a runner (a three hour Marathon is still my aim !) and as a Scientist "Times" relating to the Universe ~ Light years etc. I wanted to give a talk on the USA (50 States in 50 minutes) BUT the minimum time it took was 360 minutes ~ so I plumbed for KENTUCKY and call my talk "What a State to be in" It really is a crazy State and a TIME ZONE goes bang through the middle ! So on one side of the street you are a whole hour different ~ early or late ~ awesome ~ I also love GATES & DOORS ~ great visually and great subjects for Odd Odes. Thanks for stimulating ~ Brian 10:33 am (I'm on my first Coffee Break Teaching again @ 11 am) Please send someone Flowers using my Flower Fusion ~ Thanks B.

Try to imagine what the paint will look like after you color it. A beautiful short with simple words yet tells a lot.

Thanks m&m - I had a commission to paint the house a while back now and did a number of sketches from different angles to get a feel for the place. I gave the sketches to the client (buy a painting and get several sketches free offer) and this is the only I kept a record of.

Like the gate drawing a perfect match for your poem , good art

Cheers Bill. Just explained the background to the sketch in my reply to m&m above.

Sounds like you got there exactly when you should have. Neither late nor early. Cute one, Michael!

Cheers Louis - yes I got the timing spot on - trouble was I got the wrong date LoL 🙂
