Just think that Thanksgiving is almost here!
And so will the loved ones that we hold dear
Soon it will be time to shop for friends and family;
Christmastime makes me so happy!
I can't wait to put up the Christmas tree
And give back to the community that used to give to me.
Some gifts I'll have to buy online
Can't buy here, but that's just fine
Christmas isn't about the presents.
Christmas-----it's magic!
It is, if you want it to be!
Give with all your heart.
You wait and see!

- Comment from author about the poem: When I was very young, we were poor and my community and churches would give us baskets of fruit and other things we needed. Also it was the one day when arguing ceased. And when I say give with all your heart, I don't mean your wallet, though it's nice if you can donate to a needy cause. But you can donate your time! :-)

A fine write Christina. I'm dreading Black Friday though. We have it in UK too, but don't have Thanksgiving.
Oh well, it'll be nothing new, just the usual - lots of silly people going mad in buying things they neither want nor need, and may not be able to afford even at sale prices! doh!
