Cardinals

Christina8

The male cardinals-with bright

red feathers plain for all to see

Draws attention to himself for the female

He is an absolute natural beauty

The female cardinal-with muted

green feathers is not so great

No one barely pays her attention

as we gaze at her ruby mate

My Christmas tree will be adorned with

reproductions. The males I simply adore!

Over the years I've accumulated

a lot of them. Red cardinals galore!

                    • BRIAN & ANGELA

THANKS FOR SHARING CHRIS ~ My fave American Bird and I think the State Bird of at least SIX STATES ! Because the Cardinal is not indigenous to the UK we always use British Robins with a Red / Orange Breast as part of our Christmas Decorations and on CARDS and STAMPS ! I'm sorry you could not post a picture. If you have a portfolio of PICTURES (from GOOGLE etc) under your email ~ you can download them onto the poem using the BROWSE button ~ try it ! However your lovely Poem enabled us all to visualise a beautiful CARDINAL from our memory ! Cardinal Hugs ~ BRIAN "Bird Man of England !"

Hi! I appreciate your reading my poem and your wonderful reply. Interesting about the robin! I might post a cardinal later, then it will be too late probably. Thanks for the compliment. Sisterly hugs-Christina
