SHAKESPEARE: THE MISSING LINES

Michael Edwards

SHAKESPEARE: THE MISSING LINES.

(Recently discovered and published here for the first time)

Once more unto the breach dear friends

and bring the bricks and mortar.

To be or not to be: that is the question

To be or not to be what: that is the caveat

Neither a borrower nor a lender be

if you want to be a tight fisted recluse.

To thine self always be true

Only tell lies to others.

But for my own part it was all Greek to me

until I read the English menu

Good fun writes Michael. I was put off Bill Waggadagga at school and a couple of years ago we weny to to see Macbeth and that only confirmed those school day thoughts.

Another interesting painting in this series.

Thanks Andy - these prints actually look far better once mounted a framed - somehow their images on screen don't do them justice,

A fine write and pic Michael. Ahh, always wanted to find those missing lines!

      • Michael Edwards

Found them in Stridefoots scrap yard in Stratford (On Avon that is - not North London)

Funny , British humor I’m sure

Irony forms part of the backbone of British humour (with a 'u') and there's a perception it doesn't travel across the pond - so pleased to see this isn't the case - thanks Bill.

Who knew the old bard was that hip? Number four is my favorite, Michael.
Sorry, I still find the art 'disturbing'.

Glad you like them Louis - only one more of the print series to go and we'll get back to more conventional work.

Love the art! And the missing lines were great! I got a kick out of the last few. Can't wait to see tomorrows!

Bless you Christina - so pleased you enjoyed them both.

Thanks MICHEAL ~ very droll ! Shakespeare's one liners are MEGA and I love your reposts ! Without the art and wit of W S the World of literature would be a dull place ! He is England's Immortal Bard ! A friend of mine has just built a Model Railway Curcuit and Siding for his Son JACOB aged 3 ~ O to have such an excuse to spend money for that which is not BREAD ! His wife is long-suffering and has bought him a Railway hat & Whistle for Christmas ! His DAD was a Fat Controller in York ! My reason for this side track is to say your Painting has mirrored his Siding ! Don't forget to add a Poem to my new FUSION ~ Thanks for all your Visual & Verbal inspiration ~ each morning ~ BRIAN "Bard of Essex !"

Thanks Brian - at least two more postings to come.

I see you took all of Shakespeare's missing lines and made a painting of it! Great job, both on the painting and the poem.

              • myself and me

A humorous Interpretation of the famous line. Love this new type of paint.
