There it is,
A cupboard.
I wonder what’s in it?
I’ll crawl over and look,
Ooh! Its full of things!
Shall I get some things out
Just in case Mummy wants them.
There they are all out,
The things that Mummy may need,
I have put them all over the floor,
She will find them easier now.
Hello, there’s another cupboard,
I’d better see what’s in that one as well.

- Comment from author about the poem: I have asked our Church's Sunday School to suggest subjects from the children on which I will write poems. This is one of them, apparently one of the very young children likes taking things out of cupboards. Other poems from this eclectic collection will follow.

A lovely write Gold. So you do work with children and animals?! Are they taboo for actors to work with?
I could do simple hymn-poems I suppose, not even rhyming.
Thank you Orchi. I do not work with the children now since my days of being a Chaplain in the Sea Cadets has finished but I do have some contact with the kids in our Church.
A very nice write Andy inspired from some very thoughtful children. I'd be crawling inside the cupboard and peeking out to say "Hi Mom".
Thanks AP. I used to work with a lady whose young toddler who when told "We are going out" would put everything back in the right order, including books on the shelves, this meant that they were invariably late for apointments.
Ah the innocence of childhood well captured here Andy.
Thank you Michael, it is a pity that innocence gets lost, such a wonder to see in young children.
Ha ha - this describes well the intention of young children to "help" their Mom - - great read.
Thank you Fay, well they just want to help.
Good write. I remember that stage when pots and pans were a treasured find for my son!
Thank you Christina - the gold at the end of the rainbow - eh?
Thanks ANDY all the Kids ~ I know ~ love cupboards and also love to empty them ! When I have visitors to my Sacred Flat ~ with Kids ~ I lock all the Cupboards and the FRIDGE "Kids should be seen (keep your eye on them at all times !) and kept out of Cupboards and Drawers ~ AMEN ~ BRIAN. Please check my NEW FUSION on Food & Drink for Celebration ~ and (if your Muse moves !) please add a Poem ~ Thanks BRIAN
Thank you Brian.
You describe the curiosity of the kids so well.
It is curiosity that adds to their experience of life.
Love it, Goldfinch! So many times, what for us is a mess, is loving 'help' from our kids!
So true Fred, so true.
