Challenge..

Fay Slimm.

Challenge.

The mind has its mountains,
cliffs of fall,
frighfully sheer,
not easily climbed, save
by those whose endurance
becomes unchained.

Life has its forbidding hills,
lion-limbed,
heights of challenge,
sorrowfully mined except
by those who bide in a belief
of heaven's aid.

Time has grinding anvils,
ego's test,
loaded with iron will,
me-istically patterned to battle
all souls but those who win wince
yet face blows singing.

A fine, constructive, positive write fay. Now all we need do is put it into practice. I don't always!
Meanwhile - just as long as anyone does not face the blows hearing MY singing! If they bear that, everything else is easy as can be! lol.

    A failed ego's test, may indeed be a soul's victory ... a life-lesson learned.
I enjoyed this thought-provoking poem about life's challenges, Fay. Lord knows, we meet enough of them over a lifetime, don't we!

Life indeed has its challenges for us all and when we solve one another appears. Without them there is nothing. Great write.

Life always sets challenges - as my Dad always used to say: For every solution there's a problem. But no problem here - fine write Fay.

Thanks FAY ~ "I am often knocked down ~ but never knocked out !" In my Youth (2000 ~ 2013) I did some severe Rock Climbing in the Lake District & Snowdonia (Angela loves to SKI but dissuades me from Rock Climbing !). Your poem ~ is a perfect metaphor between Mountaineering and the daily challenges of Life & Love and their problems and hurdles ~ especially experiences of near death & disaster ! In Verse two you mention that Faith in GOD can be and aid and assurance in life's undulations ! I can say amen to that ~ AMEN ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Yours as ever BRIAN X Please add a poem to my SNOW ~ FUSION ~ Thanks B.

Good write Fay, it reminded me of the Chinese Proverb - "If you get up one more time than you fall you will make it through"
