Peace

Christina8

You see, very long ago my winters were bleak

I was a coy child~ very mild and meek

But Christmas Day held a special mystique

I find now that my situation was not unique

My mother, whose gift was a call for peace that day

It lasted, at least, for about part of the way

But always for outsiders put on perfect display

Those days long gone, she is at peace where she lay

The magic, I discovered, is in our hearts all year 'round

To do something kind is so rewarding I've found

And with loved ones and friends you should surround

I hope for you that the joy and Christmas spirit abound

THANKS CHRIS ~ Peace & Goodwill to all ~ in the UK and USA we have all made CHRISTMAS far too hectic. I our TOWN the Salvation Army organis a Christmas Dinner for the homeless and lonely ! I was a server several times and it was the most peaceful and loving ~ Christmas ever. Those who have the least of material things are sometimes the happiest and most grateful ~ especially at Christmas. There is a moral in your lovely CHRISTMAS POEM ~ Thanks for sharing and caring ADVENT ABRAZOS ~ Every Day could be Christmas Day ~ Yours BRIAN @@@@@@@

Yes, growing up in such a hectic household with community members bringing us (we were poor) baskets of goods and things at Christmas-----it's always made me cognizant to return the favor in my adult life. Either my time or if I can give back in any way. Thanks for the reply! Advent hugs to you--Christina
