DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREES were introduced by
Prince Albert and when one was installed in Buckingham
Palace (1841) everyone wanted one. When I was a Child
Christmas really started when our Tree (a real one)
was decorated and the Lights switched on. Our
ceilings are not very high so it limited our Tree to six
feet. There are larger Trees in Stores and the Market
Place ! The huge Tree in Trafalgar Square is an Annual
gift from the People of NORWAY to the UK to thank us
for liberating them from the NAZIS in WW2 ! BRIAN
