Darkness surrounds me as I walk,
The further I walk along the path
The darker it becomes.
The path starts to rise,
Each step becomes harder
As the hill becomes steeper.
I fall on my hands and knees,
Continuing the climb
Until I reach the top.
A plateau lays before me,
Shining in the dark
From the light I see,
The light I see when I look up.
There I see the stars,
And the light that is within me,
Within my life,
As I travel life’s journey,
Guided by the light.

A fine and true write Gold.
Meanwhile - what do I know? It was somewhat dark. Well I had not switched the light bulb on. doh! Cooeee!
Thanks Orchi, the bulb switched off shows a better way.
At least the ice seems to have gone this morning - well expressed Andy.
Yes it seems to be a good day today, the sun is out.
Thank you Michael.
A wonderful write my friend - -and what a thrill of a piece of music to go with it.
Thank you Fay. yes it is a great piece of music, to me it is unfortunate that the opening two minutes of that music is the only piece that people hear from a thirty minute piece of glorious music.
Light and love ... all that truly exists. Good write, Goldie, although at the expense of sleep!
Thank you Louis, I get many ideas about that time in the morning, the muse can be spiteful sometimes.
GOD said "Let there be Light" ANDY and there was Light ! Love the theme from Sky @ Night ~ many happy memories of Patrick More and what he described as the DIAMOND RING as the Sun re-emerges from the Moon at the end of a Total Eclipse ~ awesome ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN
Thank you Brian.
I can relate
I am so glad about that NR. Maybe we will meet on that journey.
Oh yea man In this life or the next
Goldfinch, I think my muse would have to use a sledge hammer to get me up at 3:30 in the morning.
But reading your poem at that time would have made it worthwhile to get up. Beautiful writing!
Thank you Fred, most kind.
