So is gold coming my way,
It should do
Sorrow had gone,
Joy was always with me,
We already had two girls,
And also a boy.
The silver had been used,
But there we saw them,
Six of them on the roof,
Six magpies,
Six for gold.
So where is it?
But then I realised
Gold has always been with me,
The life I have lead has been wonderful
With so many golden moments,
And many more to come,
Who needs gold,
When my life is so glorious.

Lovely write Gold.
Thank you Orchi.
Cooeee Goldie!
Now that IS a rare sight - although we do get them all the time in pairs round here - great write Andy.
We too have ones and pairs but in over sixty years of bird watching I have never seen more than four at any one time.
Now that IS a rare sight although we do get them all the time in pairs round here - great write Andy.

Goldfinch, your beautiful poem brings home the truth about life. If we look closely, we all realize that we already have all we need.
I do believe this so sincerely, I am a fortunate man in spite of what troubles may come my way.
