CHRISTMAS ODE (2)

Michael Edwards

Once I’d dinged my dong on high

I decked the hall with holly whereby

I pricked my thumb

and fell on my bum

and I saw three ships go sailing by.

Those ships were only hard-ships which can be overcome with a glass of red.

You won't believe this but we actually stocked up with sherry yesterday - also went to great concert last night: 2 violins, viola, Bass, cello, harp and percussion - all work arranged for the group by the leader and included some amazing pieces - I thought of you while I was there.

Oh lol, good write. You on that sherry?!

Bad day yesterday - got it round the wrong way and went and donged my ding - just taken some parrots-eat-'em-all.

          It's a right old ding-dong for you! Or dong-ding!

          It made me laugh!

Cute drawing, but the poem is way too deep and profound for my simple mind, Michael. Enjoyed, nonetheless.

It's all those hidden unmeanings Louis

Looking at the US govt I don't think there is any shortage of turkeys there!!!
There are different meanings to 'dinged my dong' I guess. Not sure what it means in England. Feel bad about your thumb and bum!!! 🙂

                • Michael Edwards

US Govt turkeys - let's hope they are stuffed
Ding my dong - ah yes - a double entendre here too.
As for my thumb and bum - long may they remain strangers.

                  Thanks Fred
