I step into the shower this New Year’s Day,
The water washes over me,
Cleansing me,
Cleansing me of the old year,
Removing my worries,
Removing my troubles.
As I step out
I step into the New Year,
A year that will be good to me.
I have my lover still with me,
I have family around me,
I have My Spirit going through me.
My Spirit will carry me through,
Through the year,
But most of all,
I have me.
I step out of the shower
Knowing that I am still here,
Still here for another year,
Another year to enjoy,
To enjoy and move forward,
Move forward into Life,
Into a Good Life.

Good write Gold. It reminds me of a hymn, 'One more step along the world I go'. I've a hymn-poem on it somewhere, though to difficult metre I recall!
Thanks Orchi, may your New Year be Blessed.
The power of positive thinking - great work Andy
Thank you Michael, I am always positive about my future.
A symbolic shower to mark the passing of time ... what better ritual for the new year? Kudos, Goldie!

Blessings to you as well Brian, thank you for your kind comments.
Goldfinch, this is a great poem, a great metaphor of washing off the old and stepping all fresh and good smelling into the new. While the 1st of January is a new beginning, it is also just a new day, and at my age I am thankful for every new day. And you are right, it is a good life!!!
Thank you Fred, I too am the same age as you and every time I get up in the morning I know it will be a good day.
