Tune: Woodlands
('Tell out my soul')
********
A rose it is the most perfect flower
Of many colours, many scents and shapes
Whether a single stem or in a bower
Beauty of the rose you cannot escape
How can I make a rose, the gardeners plead
I smile and say, it is not make, but plant
So first that is needed 'tis tiny seed
Which colour, size and shape and scent will grant
A tiny seed, has the rose within it?
Yes, 'tis programmed, 'tis in its DNA
Just plant in soil, the way to begin it
Every seed special and designed that way
The DNA makes enzymes which control
Pathways to create the colour and scent
And leaves, stems, thorns, and all the rigmarole
To make a rose that is the seed's intent
When plucked a rose is, I feel its beauty
Perfect blossom upon a slender rod
I look up and I feel it my duty
To state, 'The foolish say, "There is no God"'

Good write, I struggled to get the timing write when singing it but found it eventually.
Thanks Gold. Yes. some of the timing can be a bit awkward in some of my 'arrangements'. There are a few hymns where they sneak in extra syllables too.
Great write all the way until the last line - but I'll forgive you LoL
Ahh you picked that up on the original by Brian too, Michael. lol.
I think 'fool' has the sense of 'one wickedly spiritually blind' refusing to consider anything about a Creator God. not in the sense of 'village idiot'.
Great write
Thanks Tony.
Welcome
A true statement that final one in this excellent write on the nature of even one flower my friend..
Thanks Fay. It's based on original poem by Briansodes.

Very well done, Orchidee! Love your poem and all that 'rigmarole', and thank you for not calling me the village idiot! 🙂
