Somewhere far away
Someone is crying
Or laughing
Or sleeping
Someone
Somewhere
Has just closed their eyes
For the very last time
A person just cracked their phone
Or saved their child from an oncoming car
Or didn't
Not in time
It's very easy to feel lost
A single heartbeat
Among millions
Stopping and starting as seconds pass
Someone has just died
While giving birth
A life making way for another
The cry of a newborn replacing that of a parent
But here you are
And here I am
You, reading
Me, writing
Someone
Somewhere
Did something that will never affect you
Or might
This moment is yours
And yours alone
Cherish it
The clock will never stop

Thanks for sharing "P & P" ~ a very reflective and prospective poem ! We are all interconnected (and always have been) in a "World Wide Web" (visible and invisible) of human interaction 7.5 billion of us ! As you say "You're writing and I'm reading (hundreds of miles apart) but more than that ~ I am also COMMENTING and saying "how much I enjoyed your poem" and you might respond back ~ also read my Poem (on SNOW) it's a chain reaction and in this way we reach hundreds of people every day. "No Man or Lady is ever an Island" especially in the CYBER AGE ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
A well expressed and constructed poem - like it a lot.
Well written and expressed
Good write Pots.
This comes across very effectively
Those moments are always there some are ours some are for others but each one of them is special. Good write P and P.
