LOVE’S CYCLE
The sequence of expressed desire
from seeds of love’s lucidity
in growth uncut and vigorous
and toiling with full confidence
a tower built in passions form.
As petals fall in time relaxed
the stringency of lost desire
displaces mortar, brick and stone
as stubble marks the harvest reaped
in memory of love foregone.

A beautiful emotive write Michael.
Thanks Andy
Good write Michael. Ooh lucidity. Will that make me swoon?! lol.
Lew Cidity - I knew his sister Mona. Cheers Orchi
You know Lucy Ditty too?!
No 'fraid not but I do know Lucy Lastic 🙂
Thanks MICHAEL for Dawn stimulation ! Love the visual ~ the never ending Circle of Love and the ripples of the Ups & Downs of Love ! Your ODE exemplifies the VISUAL ! Love (in my experience) is CYCLIC and what goes round ~ comes round ! I have FALLEN (I guess that is the correct verb ?) IN & OUT for Love regularly for half my life (17 years) and the ECSTASY (and AGONY) has been worth it ~ Let there be LOVE ! Yours BRIAN
Thanks Brian - yes I thought this monotype went well with the poem
This is so very beautiful and expressive.
I really appreciate you taking the time to look in and thanks for your kind words Aislinn.
Infatuation comes and goes. Love never really dies, though it may morph into a mellow memory, indeed. Well expressed, Michael!
yes I think you're right - thanks Louis.
Wow lovely!well structured!
Thank you M - you really are too kind.
Michael, you penned something very beautiful here, amazing word choices, incredible flow, and so much meaning and truth. That formula one car has been replaced by a bicycle, but hey, we are still getting around! 🙂
Aw thanks Fred - I will get back to you some time soon. keep pedalling.
Beautiful write
Thanks so much Tony
Welcome
The tetrameter gives each line a respectable cadence; well wrought diction. Thoroughly enjoyed your poem Michael.
Thank you Gary
Deep and telling these lines Michael - so pleased to have caught this hark back and look forward with love as its irrepressible subject. First class write.
Many thanks Fay
