Esteem.

Fay Slimm.

Esteem.

Dancing with self
~ ~ ~ ~ is not understood
until what is seen

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ in the heart

is departure
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ from need.

Self is always
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ wholly enough
and denying need

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ is to know

even alone

~ ~ ~ ~ ~  we can succeed.

Life may rain hurt
~ ~ ~ ~ yet we can learn
to dance and stay dry

- - - - - ~ ~ ~ ~ if covered

with courage

~ ~ ~ ~ ~  of self-esteem.

Good write and so true, self esteem is everything.

Love the experimental construction of this one, Fay! It is fun to branch out with different forms of poetic expression. Kudos!

    My Dear Poetess Fay...
An awesome pic to illustrate an amazing write! I’m definitely going to “try to dance and stay dry”! My endeavor to achieve in 2018!

A fine write and pic Fay. I will aim to stay 'dry' too - except for a sherry or three quite often! lol

    Great write

As I've said beore on this site (somewhere!) my fathers advice was ' always hold your head erect and be proud of who you are' Well it's worked for me. Mind you there can be a fine between self respect and smugness and pomposity - just hope I don't fall into those categories. Fine work Fay.

Thanks FAY ~ The BIBLE teaches we should love our "Neighbours" to the same extent as we love ourselves ! If we have no Self Esteem or Self Worth then we can be of NO help or support to our (needy) Neighbours. Thanks for caring & sharing ! Love the VISUAL ~ I have met many "Pussy Cats" who (on reflection !) turned out to be LIONS Grrrrrrrrrrr NOT Purrrrrrrr ! Yours as ever BRIAN
