THE FILM I VIEWED LAST NIGHT
With sunrise they woke in their bed
and holding each other tight
they sighed as their lips slowly met
in the film which I viewed last night.
Sweet music played - a romantic scene
but then I thought: ‘Yuck no it’s not,
they’ve just woken up and their mouths must be stale
and their breath surely pongs quite a lot’.

- Comment from author about the poem: Actually it was my wife who was watching it but I saw this scene and thought urrgghh !! I can't watch films - I get so bored and twitchy with ideas buzzing in my head I usually go and write something - well at least this inspired something.

My first laugh of the day, thank you Michael.
Thanks Andy
That's chucked cold water over things! We both could be members of the 'Nothing-too-exciting-nor-ardent' Committee! lol.
Who else could we ask to join us on the N'tena Committee Orchi?
Not meaning this personally, but ... anyone very dull and boring, who may swoon at the slightest thing, has collection of cold, wet blankets to chuck over people, etc. People like me in fact! lol.
The Grand Order of the Cold Wet Blanket Chuckerers. I want to join!! 🙂 🙂
Made me laugh Michael! Kills the romance though!
Sure does - I don't think film makers think these things through - thanks sr.
Perfect timing for a commercial break for mouthwash. Can't think about life too much or it gets ridiculous......
O Michael ~ "Always look on the BLIGHT side of life ~ Lack of oral hygiene !" Dr Brian
Having that played at my funeral - thanks Brian.
I hold my breath for morning kisses!!! You are a riot!
Cheers Heather - most people release air first thing in the morning - Lol 🙂 .
Nice! But you should know that that first kiss in the morning is NOT on the mouth. There are enough other exciting places to kiss, where breath does not matter! LOL
Sweaty places Fred? 🙂 I'll remember that - thanks Fred
I don't want to go into details, I leave that up to your fertile mind!
Yes!
I love it when poets who can see beauty in puddle sometimes tell us how it is...
Bet you didn't put that on canvass?
Sure didn't - thanks Andrew.
