Alone Or With God.

Goldfinch60

Sitting on my cloud,

Not a care in my mind,

God appears.

“Can I sit next to you?” he said,

“If you want” I replied,

“The clouds are free”

“You look happy” he said,

“Are you OK?”

“Yes I am fine” I replied

“But surely you know that!”

“Well yes I did

I was just making conversation”

“Making conversation! Why?”

“It seemed the thing to do”,

“Here I am sitting here quite happily”

I said “Relaxed and thought free,

Then you turn up, enquiring about me”

“Yes” he said, “I thought you were lonely”

“Alone, yes” I said, “But not lonely”.

“What do you mean, not lonely?” he asked

“You are alone!”

“I need to be alone sometimes” I replied,

“To come to terms with my life”.

“But I am always here for you”,

“Yes you are, but sometimes

You get in the way,

Or you do not answer my questions”.

“ I always answer your questions” He said,

“If you always answer my questions” I replied

“Why do I not here the answers?”

“Because sometimes the answer is ‘No’,

And that is an answer you never want to hear”.

With that he got up and left,

Leaving me alone on my cloud.

My once care free mind

Now filled with questions.

A fine write and clip Gold. It might be hell if everyone had exactly everything they WANTed, which may or may be what they NEEDed.
The answer will be 'No' to 'make me win the Lottery'. Or will it be 'Yes'?! ooh..

    • Goldfinch60

Very true Orchi. Thank you for you comment.

Thanks Gold. And yet being more sensible. we struggle with things where we may reasonably expect the answer to be 'Yes'. e.g. famine, illness, poverty, etc. A cue for another hymn: 'God moves in a mysterious way(s)'. Arghh, it's only set me off caterwauling even more! lol.
Aww, why is the answer always 'No' to' Please stop Orchi singing'?!

Great message and fine write Andy.

        • Goldfinch60

Thank you Michael. I really must stop thinking - it is dangerous.

              Goldi,
              Often times, I like being
              alone! Lonely I am not!
              I always appreciated my
              “alone” time! When my
              children were young, I’d
ask them to give me some
              “mommy time”! They knew
              not to disturb me...unless
              it was an emergency! It
              worked most of the times!
              I enjoyed reading this very
              relatable write! Thank you
              for sharing!

              ~Laura~

Thank you Laura, yes sometimes we need to be alone with our thoughts and feelings.

              • orchidee

Yes, now look (not just you) - but what's all this thinking going on 'ere? is it dangerous, as you say?! lol.
This thinking will have to stop - will it?! heehee.

I truly enjoyed your conversation with God, Goldfinch! I don't think I have ever been lonely in my life. Alone, yes, but lonely, no. And isn't it funny how one thought (or answer) can change contentment to questions without end!
                Very well written!

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you very much Fred, I am glad that you enjoyed it I too cannot ever remember being lonely.

I have written several pieces of conversations with God, it is from an idea I was given by a Minister friend of mine who is now sitting on his own cloud.

Great POEM ANDY and in my experience too GOD is just like that ! But I always blame me ~ I pray ~ God answers ~ but alas I'm not always tuned in (or ready ?) for the answer ! Bring on the Clowns ~ oe of my faves and Dame Judy is a GODDESS ! Yours BRIAN

                  • Goldfinch60

Thanks Brian, God does seem to pose more questions than answers sometimes.
