ADVERSARY RHYMES 13 14 & 15
Georgie, Porgie, biscuit and crumb
Had an itch and scratched his bum
And when he wagged his index finger
All the girls refused to linger.
Daisy, Daisy,
have you a turnip or two?
I’m half crazy all for the love of stew.
It won’t be a stylish dinner
but I know it’ll be a winner
and oh what a treat
to take a seat
at a table that’s set for two.
Diddle diddle dumpling my son Fred
Climbed the stairs to his girlfriends bed
But when he got there he found she had fled
Diddle diddle dumpling my son Fred

- Comment from author about the poem: How mant can remember the old nursery rhyme/music hall song 'Daisy Daisy'? I can remember my Dad singing it when I was still a toddler in the days when I had my first bike and Mum and Dad rode a tandem. A bygone era.

Some cracking fun Adversary rhymes Michael. I was singing along with all the tunes (the neighbours weren't too pleased).
Thanks Andy - Orchi wasn't with you was he?
A fine write and pic Michael. Yes, we was a duet!
Orchi and Andy - did you get a return booking?
Well, some cats booked me - meoowwooo!
Nice way to start my day off with a smile Michael. Thanks for sharing.
Ohhhhh MICHAEL you have excelled with your ABSTRACT this morning ! I am a SPEILOGGER (Potholer) and it revived scary memories ! I am the man in white in the RHS lower corner ~ dwarfed by the rock in the cave ! My only escape to Terra Firma is by a system of fragile and loosely attached rope ladders ~ Thanks for scaring ! I love the RHYMES ~ parodies of Nursery Rhymes ~ sont tousjours amusant ! My fave has to be DAISY ~ DAISY ~ my brother and I had a TANDEM "At length it arrived at length" Please check my second Teddy Bear POEM ~ I have written it from a Male perspective because I am old enough to know all the YANG things that are a turn-off for YIN ~ it will always be so ! Yours BRIAN
Thanks Brian - the next one I paint I'll put in more footholds cos I'm that kinda guy.
Ha ha - fun reads to finish my day Michael and hey I remember all those ditties with of course different words.
Remembering the words makes me feel quite old - I wonder if todays children know them - must ask my grandchildren.
Omg lol you know I adore your writing.... brilliant
Oh thanks Joo;les - not quite SM but I keep trying
I remember #3 quite distinctly, even though it was a long time ago. Never could figure out why she fled!
Your brother in crime, Fred.
I wondered if you would. Did you enjoy the dumplings? In fact do you have dumplings in America? Thanks Fred.
I can get ready-made German potato dumplings in California.
The German ones are good but different from the English variety which are made using suet and are so yummy in hot piping stews
