Counting The Months

Christina8

I haven't seen the sun in so long

I fear it will never change seasons

The yellow rays that would touch my skin

I need them so bad-can't count the reasons

Got this long month of February to take

me on a journey and I don't want to go

And then even in March I'll still

have to contest with all the snow

I hope April greets me warmly

with happy showers for May

And all the flowers they will bring

That would be heavenly, I'd say

Then finally summer will

arrive with June in tow

With winter far behind, I'll

be the happiest woman you know

Doh! Then autumn comes, which leads to winter again! Can we win?!
I'm a doom-and-gloom merchant! I say' Don't worry, winter will soon be back! 'heehee. oohhh.

            • Christina8

But of course, America has it worse than UK - usually? or sometimes?

              • Christina8

I think much worse. Usually a winter storm warning!

SNOW SNOW go away ~ Don't come back 'til Christmas Day ! I have only visited Your State once CHRIS (in Summer !) and it was very beautiful ~ as you know ! Every Season is lovely but I agree Spring can still be nippy (cold) but Summer and Fall in your State are exceptional ~ when you retire you can always be a SNOWBIRD ~ buy a trailer and come to FLORIDA and JOIN the Ahingers and Gators ! I am on the Publicity Site for State X ~ and the Winter Wonderland pictures ~ they send me ~ look beautiful to me in mild South England ! But I don't have to drive or shovel snow in X ! Thanks for sharing ~ have a lovely Day ~ Hot Hugs ~ BROTHER BRIAN @@@@@@@

They don't show you the pictures of blizzards. And they show you the pictures of the snow with blue skies. Wonderful! LOL Sun is out (yey!!!) so hopefully it melts a little bit. I appreciate your kind reply. You have a lovely day as well! Winter hugs-Christina

I feel much the same way dear Christina - give me warmth over cold and my pen writes all the better.

Believe me, even though I now have summer all year long, I thirsted for summer when living up north.

you are welcome I enjoy reading other poetry and commenting however I'm a little disappointed that it's not reciprocated. I seem to get some views but few comments....does that mean my poems are not well written? how do I know if no one says so?
