WHO I AM

Michael Edwards

WHO I AM

I enjoy freedom

The blue smoking hills stand tall

I am free at last.

This is who I am

I reach up and touch the sky

I have found myself.

That freedom is wonderful, may you always be that way.

      Hope so Andy

Actually I hate those meaningless phrases like 'I have found myself' What does it mean? (And here's me using it - derrr!)
I always want to shout: 'Use proper English' but I guess proper use of the language is a dying skill. I've got so many pet hates like the awful modern use of the word 'guy' when addressing a mixed audience - and the misuse of the word 'like'. Better stop there or I might start suffering from high blood pressure!

Good write Michael. Where was you hiding, to be able to find yourself? How did you know it was you when you found yourself?!
We must know the answers to these important questions! lol.

I was in the Tate Modern Turbine Hall and I had a mirror - then I looked at the photo on my bus pass and then I compared it to a Picasso painting and then I hit myself to check if it hurt and then they took me in a white van and then they charged me in my name and then I knew. Simple really !!

Like I too dislike bad English like. So especially like those sentences like that start with so like. So like I get annoyed like, so where is good language like.
Where' do those apostr'phes go like. So do the'y go where' ever you want like.
Pritty soon speling wil go th saim whey!

Finding oneself is seen as freedom indeed in this modern world Michael - -wonder where everyone goes before that momentous discovery eh ? - - - good to see you posting again my friend and I love that sculpture with such well chosen old wooden rings around the fishy eyes.

        • Michael Edwards

Thanks Fay - just returned from a few days in London. I'm running out of paintings to post and found a few of mu rustic fish sculptures so I'll post these over the coming days.

WELCOME BACK ~ Uncle Mike ~ pleased you found yourself ! Have missed your ODD ODES and your helpful comments on mine ! I love wood grain ~ I have my Grandparents "old" ERCOL table and chairs in my flat ~ from the 1950's ~ they improve with age ! I love "grain sculpting" and a FISH like that would have a price tag of £100 @ Snape Maltings ~ Yours BRIAN

Yes I found myself and now back home again. Oh I just love wood - this piece made from a bit of decking and a broken piece recovered from a building site. Yes if only I lived near the coast I could sell these small sculptures at silly prices - or are they silly? - after all the time they take at a decent hourly rate demands a respectable return.

While I love the way you write, Michael, I have to say that I never got lost so I never had to go look for myself and therefore never found myself either!
(Special note: English is my 4th language, so please overlook any mistakes!)

Ah but you were hiding up a tree - thanks Fred.
Four languages - jeepers I am impressed - I know two: English and gobbledygook which I'll post tomorrow.
