Cageless.
Unleashed from restraint the falcon lances
through cloud to clear sky.
Hood-free and humanless wide wings tackle
ground-to-air flight.
Pinned to state of blindness hungry eyes strain
to reconstruct sight.
Leathered claws, in predator fashion, disdain
gloved hold over wild.
Thrown now into freedom's space huge eagle
races again to life.
Cast binding shackles mean pinnions wheel
fearless toward light.
Tethered captives should glide through ether
with untied delight.
Oh to give every bird speed of cageless-free
dynamic birthright.

Marvelous Fay - there is nothing like seeing creatures free in their own space. When we used to turn the horses loose for the day I could feel their joy as they turned and ran like the wind!
Thanks so much Lorna for sharing the joy of horses let loose from their stables - certainly nature's creatures need their own space. So pleased you enjoyed the read.
hi fay , no bird should be caged or trapped .. they have the right to be free, to fly in the breeze. i love birds and i love being able to see them fly . a lovely and intelligent piece of writing, which i enjoyed.. x
Hi and thank you for this perceptive comment dear Charlotte - - like you I hate to see feathers in cages and birds trying to sing behind bars. I am pleased you found something special to enjoy in the read.
"My heart enrages
Over BIRDS in cages
I long to see
Every BIRD fly free !"
Love POEM 'N PIC ~ FAY
Thanks for Carin' 'an Sharin'
Yours BRIAN Aveophile !
Love the small rhyme to outline your own feelings about cages dear Brian - - all creatures should be given their freedom to be who and what they really are. Thanks a load for your encouraging comment.
It is wonderful to see raptors in flight, they should all have their freedom.
Statistics show that there are more Barn Owls in captivity than live in the wild.
Yes dear Goldie I agree to see raptors in flight is awesome - - what a sad statistic you give too about barn owls - - shame on this world of non-caretakers eh ? ......... thank you muchly for the comment.
This write truly soars,
my dear Fay!

Thanks so much Laura for your kind comment - - the write was a tribute to the beauty of such as a falcon in flight......... so glad you saw something special in the read.
A lovely write Fay.
Thank you for the visit and read and comment my friend.
This excels - a marvellous write in support of the birth right to freedom that every creature should enjoy - another brilliant penning Fay.
Ah the write got through to your caring heart Michael as I supposed it would - freedom of movement should never be experienced by fur or feather as I tried to portray in the verse. Thank you lots for the comment my friend.
First of all you are absolutely right, Fay! And secondly you expressed it beautifully!
Thank you dearly for the support on this needed subject of allowing more freedom to all creatures Fred. Your comment is much appreciated.
No animals of any breed should be confined or restricted from free movement in Nature. That is Nature's Law and should be adhered to by all of the Human race. Cage a Human and everyone is making a fuss about it. But so few care of the animal world. Now THAT is sad.
