Unequivocal Bliss

FredPeyer

With her arms around the tree

She pressed her body

Against the rough bark

Closing her eyes

She became one with it

Feeling the life and power

The incredible strength

Filling her soul

Her heart beat slowing

To the rhythm of nature

Her blood flow mirroring

The slow movement

Of sap cursing through

The veins of the tree

Her breathing harmonizing

With the soft breeze

Gently moving the leaves

Her mind surrendering

To the serenity

Of just being

With all her senses

Arriving at and experiencing

Unequivocal bliss

Thank you orchie! A little bit different from my usual, I guess.

Ah - your pen describes perfectly the feeling of being at one with nature in this special way Fred - - a compelling read which makes me want to go out and find the nearest old tree. Thanks so much for sharing both wonderful picture and words.

      • FredPeyer

Thank you so much for your kind comment, Fay! Trees have always been special to me, and there are a lot of 'tree huggers' in this world! 🙂

A nicely penned piece about a connection with nature
        Michael 🙂

Thank you P25! I wish we could connect that closely.

          feeling the harmony with nature.

Thanks m&m! I actually wanted to go further to where we become one with nature. Don't know if this is possible though.

            I talk to the Trees
            They always listen to ME
Prince Charles ~ our future KING
Implores us to "Go Hug a Tree"

Thanks for sharing FRED ~ lovely Picture ~ lovely Poem ! Tree Hugging is very populay in the UK and most are small enough in diameter to hug right round. We do have some REDWOODS in our ~ It take THREE to hug them ! My Friends who are Primary Teachers (aged 5 to 8) to hug trees and also to know their names (Oak ~ Ash ~ Fir etc). Back to Nature is so so important ! In the UK it's fast disappearing ~ Deforestation ~ Urbanisation ~ Sea level rise etc etc SO: GO HUG A TREE and never CHOP IT ! Yours BRIAN

            • FredPeyer

Thanks so much Brian! Glad Prince Charles is into trees!

A beautiful write Fred and very timely. There is a large area which is bounded by the lane where I live and the local river which was always in danger of being built on. Thankfully the owner has left it to the Woodland Trust which is a charity which preserves forestry and woodlands. On Saturday week I along with other villagers will be spending our time planting saplings to turn it into a woodland nature reserve for the benefit of future generations.

              • FredPeyer

Thank you Michael, I am so glad to hear about your woodland nature reserve. That should be done much more often. I am very lucky to live in a private valley full of mature trees. My house is built on the upper edge of the valley side, so when I look out my windows all I see is green! Beautiful!

                  I'm so envious Fred

                • Heather T

Trees make my heart go thumpity thump. Walking barefoot outside is a similar experience for me as you so eloquently describe here. Ya big hippy ✌

                  • FredPeyer

Thank you Heather! What can I say, I am a child of the 60's!!! 🙂

                    Fred,
                    I love this posting!
                    It reminds me of Shel
                    Silverstein’s book,
                    THE GIVING TREE.
                    Respect nature!
                    ~Laura~

                    • FredPeyer

Thank you Laura, unfortunately I don't know the book. But I can always check for it on the internet. And yes, we have to respect nature.

                        It’s actually a children’s
                        picture book with a very
                        important message!
                        There are many possible
                        interpretations to its
                        message. It all depends
                        on the reader’s point of
                        view!

                      • Caring dove

oh , very lovely fredpeyer! i love the way she was soaked in that moment of hugging the tree , then nothing else mattered lol.

                        • FredPeyer

Thank you Charlotte, I don't know if we can surrender ourselves to the degree that I wrote in that poem, but at least we can try to forget ourselves and to become one with nature. Doesn't have to be a tree.

                        • Lorna

Tree hugging is the absolute best! Obviously you think so - you're always up in one that we can see! Loved the poem.

                          • FredPeyer

Thanks Lorna, there is another reason I am up in that palm tree. I want to get a coconut!

                          • Accidental Poet

If only the tree could pen a poem about the experience. Great write Fred.

                            • FredPeyer

Thanks AP. You are a good writer. Maybe you can penn something from the view of the tree. How do trees feel about us humans? Might be interesting.

                              • Accidental Poet

Well, I wasn't meaning a write from me, but you've got my meaning. I believe the more we learn of trees, we see them more and more like us than we ever thought. So a poem from a tress perspective would be very interesting. I'll have a go at it if you'd like me to. Thanks for your compliment Fred.

                              • Goldfinch60

Beautiful write. This is the thing about embracing nature, we can all go into that 'unequivocal bliss'.

                                • FredPeyer

Thank you Goldie. You are so right. I am in awe of nature, of both its beauty and its incredible destructive power.
