Love can never be denied

FredPeyer

Love was sneaking up on her

Like daybreak sneaks up on night

She felt attraction somewhere

But failed to see the light

Her mind was occupied and full

No room for any other thought

But deep inside she felt a pull

A bit like she was caught

Resolutely pushing it all away

Concentrating on what she had to do

She went ahead her usual way

Through the day without a clue

But love can never be denied

No matter what you try to do

You can run or you can hide

No matter, love will get you too

Yes Fred, love can never be disguised or denied.

Thanks Goldie! I wanted this one to be on the lighter side, yet still contain a 'fundamental truth'! 🙂

A fine write Fred. But of course, none of this applies to me and KP. We're always fighting like cat and dog! heehee.

Remember orchie, when God made Adam and put him into paradise, he looked down on him and saw how much fun Adam had. So God thought I have to do something to reign him in a bit, so he made woman.

Great piece of light verse Fred - It certainly crept up on me many many years ago - or rather it grabbed me without me even realising it.

Michael, both you and I know that we are the lucky ones! My best regards to Jeanne.

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
                Love is all around me
                And the feeling grows ......

                YES indeed FRED
                LOVE is all around us
And in my experience it is
a FIRE that can never be
                EXTINGUISHED ~ AMEN !
                Yours ~ BRIAN

                • FredPeyer

Thank you Brian! But careful, that fire can burn you too!!!

Love means to be accepted and embraced.

                  • FredPeyer

Thank you m&m, true, real love will accept the other one just the way he/she is.

                      Fred,
                      A great write! When
Cupid is determined to shoot that arrow, it will get us no matter what!💘
                      Loved the read!

                      ~Laura~

                      • FredPeyer

Thank you Laura, I am sure Cupid would win an Olympic Goldmedal in bow and arrow competition! 🙂

I like it a lot Fred! A lot of truth to it. A wonderful poem!

Thank you Christina! It started out as something light, but I guess there is some fundamental truth here.

Love the imagery you use in this confession of love's captive hold - great read Fred.

                            • FredPeyer

Light and lovely! I never minded getting "got" by the love bug. Even when there was pain it has always been worth it.

                              • FredPeyer

Thank you Heather! You know what they say: No pain, no gain! And you are right, it IS so worth it!!!
