Tune: Skye Boat Song
('Spirit of God, unseen as the wind')
Daniel 2 v.20-23
*******
Chorus
To Daniel dreams sure were revealed
Visions not hid, unsealed
He the Lord praised, the great God of heaven
Ruler over all men [mankind]
He did say, Blesséd be the name
Of God, of endless fame
For wisdom and might be His sure
Infinite, evermore - Chorus
He changes the times and seasons
By His own plans, reasons
He removes kings and set up kings
He Lord over all things - Chorus
He gives wisdom unto the wise
Grace, mercy, He supplies
And gives knowledge to them that know
Understanding, 'tis so - Chorus
He reveals deep and secret things
To Him creation sings
He knows what is in the darkness
His thoughts are numberless - Chorus
Daniel gave his God thanks and praise
Did to Him worship raise
He too God of his ancestors
His past brothers, sisters - Chorus
Thanks given for wisdom and might
Changed the darkness to light
Made known to them what they desired
Prayers answered, not debarred - Chorus

Thanks STEVE ~ A double blessing today ! Lovely Tune ~ lovely Words ~ praise for the Holy Spirit ~ The SCRIPTURE UNION is the only UNION I have ever belonged to ! AND DANIEL one of the most exciting characters in the BIBLE ~ Thanks for caring & Sharing ~ Yours BRIAN
Thanks Brian. It was made seemingly quite impossible for Daniel - madness, humanly speaking. How could one know what someone had been dreaming, let alone interpret it?! The king said ' I forgot' or at least 'I'm not telling ya what the dream was'. And dangerous times. Nebuchadnezzar could be terribly unpredictable.
Who is Wisdom - do I know him?
Thanks Michael. Well, Wisdom is sort of personalised in the Bible as a 'she'. Doh - why not as a 'he'?! Unless you mean Norman Wisdom?
Well men have wisdom teeth And Norman was a man - well that's where lived.
Freud thought he knew something about the interpretation of dreams. It makes you wonder. I enjoyed this poem.
Thanks wc. I might agree with Freud, apart from his 'swoony' side of things - the slap and tickle stuff! ooh.
Another good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
I guess, orchie, YOU could have used some of that wisdom BEFORE you married KP!
Thanks Fred. Yes. But oh woe, too late now! lol.
