Shame And Doubt

Christina8

My soul leaks like an

old rusty sieve

Sometimes I wonder how

long I can bear to live

Jovial on the outside

Pained on the in-

Don't know how it got this way

The ice I'm skating on is thin

Emptiness won't let love in

I pushed it out

Now mine to pursue

Are shame and doubt

Shame and doubt, so heavy, and over thin ice...

Have missed your posts and comments dear Christina and so sorry to read you have not been too well -- low feelings can overcome the most grounded of us at times but they somehow vanish again - - so keep that heart high my dear poet-friend. Hugs galore - - xxx

Thanks so much for your encouragement Fay! And the hugs! I appreciate them more than you know.

        Christina,
So sorry to read that you haven’t been feeling well! Winter is a bummer! We can only take it for so long. I can understand that very well. My mom hasn’t been outdoors since September 2017! She is totally depressed! I can’t wait till she can sit on her balcony and feel the sunshine! I wish you the same...lots of sunshine 🌞!

        ~Laura~

Thank you Laura. Not looking forward to March. Just more of the same. But thanks so much for the read and I appreciate that!

Spring is on its way and I do hope you continue to improve - great write and good to see you posting.

It is hard to post when you are depressed, wondering what the feedback might be like. I appreciate the read and uplifting message!

HI CHRIS ~ Thanks for sharing ~ painful but It has solicited such lovely responses ~ MPS is such an empathetic site. I can understand Winter Melancholy ~ some of my students get it and especially my Norwegian Friends who have six months of Darkness in Winter ! Thinking of you & Praying for you ! I like your response to TEPO ~ When Spring comes it will PASS ! I am both sad & glad today because BILLY GRAHAM has been called home to Glory ! SAD because his voice & pen are silenced ~ GLAD because he is now in HEAVEN ~ which was the subject & hope of so many of his SERMONS ~ Hugs in the SPIRIT ~ Brother Brian ~ AMEN

We've got more sun and warm weather here than we can handle, so I'm sending you a lot of sunshine. Am even throwing in some beautiful rainbows and much Aloooha! Just close your eyes and you will feel it! And then whenever you feel the need for warmth, just think of this gift.

              • Christina8

Thank you so much Fred for your well wishes and sunshine!! I so much appreciate your kindness.

Hang in there Christina. Push write through the depression. Let the depression escape through your words.

                • Christina8

I have more poems stemming from the depression but afraid what people will think. I guess I will just post them and hope they are received like this one was. Thanks so much for your encouragement. It is appreciated!

We all have our battles to wage with depression Christina. You're among a friends here who also fight their own personal demons quite often. Some have won the battles with the demons and some are still fighting the fight. If writing about those battles helps in the fight, then let the lyrical wheels of battle turn. Don't fear what anyone thinks Christina. We're here to support you.

Good emotive write Christina but all will be well, Spring is nearly here, we already have crocuses and daffodils flowering in our garden (I can just about see them through the weeds!)

Thank you GF! I appreciate the sentiment, but we still have plenty of snow hills. Flowers are a bit off in the distance for me. Thanks for reading!
