My worries pile atop like
sand hills collect on the earth
Some days I am left wondering
what is my purpose and worth?
I write about love a lot
to deflect my anxiety
So many days I'm trapped
in my own head in solidarity
To live in a world
with so much fear is cruel
And to let it get to me the way I do
makes me feel like a fool
Hope wanes as winter
lags on in such a way
My solace is knowing that
there will be relief someday

A fine write C. It's easy to say; another thing to experience: 'Spring will come again one day'.
Thank you orchidee, I appreciate your sweet comment!
I guess it's Seasonal Affective Disorder - not a pleasant problem but spring is on its way. Great poem to describe the problem.
Thanks Michael! I just know it isn't pleasant. I also know people will get sick of hearing me drone on about being sad. But I do appreciate your reply on the poem, very much!
The comings and goings of sadness and worry you well describe in this poignant poem Christina - - the solace of knowing relief will appear is a grand finalé to this cry for aid.. Lots of hugs from my heart to yours xxx
Thanks so much Fay! i appreciate your kind words. Thanks so much for the hugs, friend! Hugs back--Christina
Ohhhhhh CHRIS ~ What can I say ! I love the structure of the Poem ~ replete with Rhyme & Rhythm ~ BUT ~ once again it's the subject which depresses me ! However this time there is a glimmer at the end of funnel ! STANZA 1. You state the cause of your depression as WORRIES ! I'm not a worrier but I do sympathise ! S 2. YES LOVE is an antidote to ANXIETY and I adore all your LOVE POEMS ! S 3. Very true CHRIS especially with TRUMP and the STUPID US Gun Laws ~ so I'm scared too (it's knives in the UK) silent but just as deadly !) So with this sentiment I can EMPATHISE ! S 4. Who turned the light on ? Your final doublet filled me with hope & joy and answers to Prayer !
"My solace is knowing that
There will be relief some day"
"Deep in my heart ~ I do believe
You will overcome some day ~ AMEN !"
You share ~ I care !

Thank you so much for your wonderful reply, Brian! I know there will be relief someday, but when is that day? Is it near? I will most likely always worry but I need a release from my depression. The bible says a lot about hope. I should re-read those passages. I appreciate your taking the time out to help a friend out. Hugs in the spirit--Christina
Christina
poetry is all about ones expression, whatever this maybe. I can write about one subject in many many different ways, but all coming from the same core. So keep writing and enjoy your getting it out
Your poem resonates with me
Michael 🙂
Thank you so much Michael for your kind words! I appreciate the support. Thanks again!
