My wife and I travel all over London by bus. We both have a car but who wants to drive in London and see nothing. As you say the bus is free to us oldies and you see so much - busy streets , architecture, London sights. The underground is okay but nowhere near such fun as being perched upstairs on a London omnibus.
We wouldn't visit Costa by the way - we want to be served by a waitress and given the choice of coffee bean (not adulterated with foreign flavours or frothy milk) and served in a proper cafetiere.
Thanks MIKE ~ I always try to ride the Bus when i visit the Smoke ! I recently went to the Wedding of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Children's Nanny. Between the Wedding venue and the Reception we went on a decorated London Double Decker ~ The Webber Kids had never been upstairs on a BUS and were so so excited ! There's always a FIRST TIME ! Yours BRIAN
Mio Caro Amico BRIAN,
One day I would love to ride on the Red Omnibus...in London! I enjoyed reading your acrostic! Now I’m yearning for a London trip! Grazie!
Un Abbraccio e Baci...
~Laura~
GRAZIE LAURA ~ CARA AMICA MIA ! Some day your BUS will come ! Pleased you enjoyed the Acrostic ~ Double Decker buses are so so sexy and the views you get ~ from the top deck ~ are awesome ! The tourist Buses have no roofs on the top deck ~ so (if it isn't raining !) the view is unrestricted. It's one of the 500 things you must do when you visit the capital of the WORLD ~ LONDON ~ Baci e Abbracci ~ BRIAN ~ Presidedte della Londra !
Oh the beautiful Omnibus! And the adorable red phone booths...... Here's Flanders & Swann to sing it for you!:

WELL LORNA ~ In London we do like to paint the town RED !
Along the Queen\\\'s great highway
I drive my merry load
At 20 miles per hour
in the middle of the road
We like to drive in convoys
we\\\'re most gregarious
The big 6 wheeler ~ scarlet painted
London Transport Diesel engined
97 horsepower ~ OMNIBUS !
Thanks for the reminder ~ Wonderful Song
Wonderful Singers I have recited it ~ a tricky
meter ! A Busman's Hug ~ BRIAN @@@
Good write Brian. Shouldn't that be 65+ for free travel? You gone to Waterloo today?!
Thanks STEVE ~ I'm much too young to have one ~ so now I'll have to wait 30 years ~ It seems to me that a retirement pension ~ free prescriptions and A BUS PASS and being in a Retirement Home where the YIN outnumber the YANG by 20:1 (when it's 30 years too late !) are the only perks of being a SENIOR ! No I'm at MURRAYFIELD EDINBURGH TODAY (with my LAPTOP !) for the Rugger ! Yours BRIAN !
No Orchi, it is 60, I got mine when I was sixty, renewed it when I was sixty five and used it for the first time a few weeks ago when I went to Oxford, I am now in my seventieth year.
I don't drive...live on buses lol great wee read
Och aye JOOLES ~ The buses are a Godsend ~ if you live out of town and no have a motor ! Thanks pleased you enjoyed it ! The beauty of a Bus over a Bike is you can carry an CASE or several bags of shopping ~ and even a pram ~ on a BUS ! Omnibus HUGS ~ BRIAN @@@
Good write Brian, see my answer to Orchi.
These buses are fun. There are a lot of double-deckers in Waikiki. Never had the pleasure of riding one though.
Thanks FRED ~ I know Hawaii has everything ! Saves the cost of a trip to The Capital of the World ! Yours Brian !
Oh I'm imagining coming to London and seeing the sights by a "double decker" as we call them. Someday!! Sisterly hugs--Christina
