MARCH

Michael Edwards

MARCH

The ravages of seasons rage

no more in minds of toiling men

with welcome signs of change in clime

their heavy raiment hanging on

the rusting hooks behind the door

now March has come again.

May the March winds blow this Beast from the East away quickly otherwise I may have to put a long sleeved shirt on!
Good write Michael and fabulous painting.

    • Michael Edwards

I detest the cold and only wear short sleeved shirts from about July to September and dispense with jumpers from about June to October. Apart from that I'm with you - let's hope it goes away soon.

I've been reading about your bad weather Michael and so for the sake of your toiling men may it leave soon! Absolutely lovely painting - as usual! But this one is particularly cheerful!

      • Michael Edwards

Thanks Lorna - yes it's snowing as I type this and darn cold outside.

A fine write and pic Michael. Oh dear *gets that heavy raiment off the hook again*. Never cast a clout till May is out? Oh no, surely it will be warmer before June?!
How the itching? It's like a flea plague that cats may have!

        • Michael Edwards

Actually not too bad this morning - it's my warm raiment that does it.

          • orchidee

Me too - me long johns! lol.

I blame Clement for this inclement weather. You seen him around lately?!

            • Michael Edwards

Yes - he,s lost his 'L' and he's got set in his ways

O MICHAEL ! You are the quintessential Englishman and therefore you should have heeded the advice of the BARD "Ye should nay pen a ode on Clime o' Hen afor ye see wha' the day brings !" A Hen is a Lady. Our long term forecast (S East) was for snow 'til Saturday ~ so my Poem 'n Pic today is ANGELA SNOW LADY ~ Love the Poem for St David's Day and abstract vase of LEEKS (sorry Roses) so I'll forgive you for being INCLEMENT (you can get tablets for it !) Yours BRIAN ~ SNOWMAN !

              • Michael Edwards

I get the tablets on prescription - actually this little piece was written several months ago when I was looking forward to March - and now it's here I'm looking forward to April...! Heigh Ho !!

                  Hello Michael,

A beautiful poem accompanied by a stunning picture.

Your poem and picture are uplifting particularly through this frosty cold period we are experiencing in the UK

                  Great write!

                  Keep writing

Pleased you've been uplifted. I've just finished decorating for the door and feel quite knackered so roll on the warmer weather. Thanks FB.
