WITH TIME

Michael Edwards

WITH TIME

A door

might sag and warp

and gutters fall from walls

but moss will soften honeyed stone

with time.

Thanks Resa - a nice simple form as it's so short.

Good write - you've been in my garden then!

        Like the water colour.

        • Michael Edwards

I bet it's not that bad - the painting is of Foxton Locks near me - a long series of locks and a popular leisure spot with pub and restaurant

          • Goldfinch60

Many years ago we went on a barge and went up and down Foxton Locks, good job we were younger then!

How long will the moss take to soften the honeyed stone? ages?!

              • myself and me

To live in a place like this, you might forget time. Lovely, both painting and writing.

                • Michael Edwards

Yes a lovely spot to just lose yourself but not in weather like we're having at the moment.

Arithmetic and poetry should never be brought together! However yours here is probably the best ive seen (though i usually glaze over at carefully counted syllables etc). Excellent picture.

Ohh I\'m often on about carefully counted syllables! heehee. I knew my organised mind would start up, and protest about myself writing unequal syallabled lines!

                    • Michael Edwards

                      That's quite a compliment - thanks dusk.

                    • Fay Slimm.

                      Super write and picture.

Pity I didn't marry Kate Moss (KM) instead of Kate Price (KP)! But is she a Botox girl too?!

                      • Michael Edwards

No but she's got an Oxbot! Now I can't stop smirking at the thought !
