Returning Restoration

orchidee

Tune: Lydia

(one tune to: 'Jesus the name high over all')

Jeremiah 29 v.10-14

The last line of each verse is repeated.

**********

After seventy years captivity

In Babylon here see

The LORD will visit them, release

His own people, bring peace

They would return to their own land

Be led by His good hand

For He says, I know the thoughts I

Have to you, not passed by

They be thoughts of peace, not evil

I [have] good plans for you still

And give you an expected end

My blessings shall I send

Then shall you call upon me, go

Pray unto me, and me shall know

And I will hearken unto you

Grant you promises true

And you shall seek me, and find me

When your search for me be

With all your heart, and so I will

Be revealed to you still

And I will your captivity turn

You shall know of me, learn

I will gather you and bring you

Back to homeland anew

That's what I'm doing - returning to restoration - decorating the main guest bedroom. Nice one O

You returned to it today M? lol. Thanks.

Orchidee - I don't often comment on your entries but I always read them.... it's just that they are a bit out of my ken and not sure my comments would be intelligent enough. I am in awe of your dedication! And the music is beautiful!

Thanks Lorna. if you don't feel towards religion/spirituality/Christianity that much, you might wish to just comment generally, .eg. the style of the poems. I admit it's 'spiritual language'. I'm sure you would be intelligent!

I'm totally untutored and just an "emotional" (dare I say it) poet..... but I'll try! But "spirituality" is definitely something I understand - just not organized religions much as I think they must be a great comfort.

I'm no professional poet. I dunno much of iambic tetrameters, etc. What are they when they are 'at home', as the saying goes?! lol.
I think it's 'religion' that's often the problem. I prefer to use the words' Spirituality' or 'Christianity'. Though of course Christianity is one religion, so......

Thank you Orchi for starting the day on a HIGH 🎼note! Enjoyed the write and the video!

It might be a downhill run for the rest of the day, but we’ll deal with those negative setbacks, too! 😉

Thanks Laura. Yes, it is a bit 'rumbustious' tune, though not unruly or wild. I just thought of that word, now staggering back in amazement at myself! lol

That is a great piece. Poetry is obviously God's plan for you. I can always rely on my Christian brother to write something positive.

Thanks Forever. Sometimes it's none at all, and another day it can be one or more! I'm chasing Charles Wesley (am I?) and his 9,000+ hymns/poems, including unpublished ones! If so, I've miles to go!

                  Another good one Orchi.
