Tune: Langran (St Agnes)
('Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face')
Psalm 142
*********
I cried unto the Lord here with my voice
Turned to Him and I did make Him my choice
Unto Him did I make supplication
He who hears people of every nation
My complaint before Him I thus poured out
Not labouring there in my own strength stout
But showing before Him my trouble, so
He all my situation He does know
When my spirit was overwhelmed in me
Then you knew my path, you did look and see
Where I walked my enemies secretly
Laid a snare, trap for me treacherously
I looked and behold, but there was then none
Who would care for me, help me, no, not one
No care for my soul, and I thus bereft
I cried to you Lord, you have not me left
I said to you Lord, you my refuge sure
My portion in the land of living, for
Unto my cry you will come, will attend
And answer me, me you will sure defend
For I am in need, very low am brought
Save me from my enemies, you I sought
For my enemies are stronger than I
Bring my soul from prison, I shall not die
The righteous shall then compass me about
And we shall raise again the joyful shout
For you have dealt with me bountifully
Of you kindness, your goodness, graciously

Great write O
Thanks M. My enemy is still KP. Dunno what Psalm could get me out of this hole - that I digged for myself! heehee.
I think a communal lament would go down well - down the hole you dug for yourself ๐ ๐ ๐
Indeed He deals with us bountifully; especially when we can consciously join our sufferings with His. Well done!
Thanks Gary.
