It's great that the preservation of their culture is at last being observed - oh that that were the case for all cultures. Fine write Brian.

Thanks MICHAEL ~ Yes it's a pity that groups like the GYPSIES & DRUIDS etc are not treated with more respect in the UK ! I have visited New Zealand and the Maoris are given equal place and all signs are Bilingual as in WALES ! The Aborigines less so in Australia ! I always visit the Native American Museums when I am in America. They have visited the University of Essex and give lectures on "What is an INDIAN !" Yours BRIAN

GRAZIE LAURA ~ MIA CARA AMICA ~ When I was a BOY SCOUT ~ we studied how the Native Americans lived in harmony in harmony with Nature an tried not to pollute the environment ! We also had TOTEM POLES on our Camp Site which told the History of the Scout Movement which started in the OK in 1908 ! I'm so glad it's so hard to find them! Maybe they will make it another 1000 years if we leave them alone - aren't their clothes beautiful!

              • BRIAN & ANGELA

THANKS LORNA ~ The clothes and jewellery worn by the Native American Ladies are breathtaking ~ lots of very beautiful bead work ! All NA Reservations are protected by the Government as is there lifestyle ! It is exciting in Arizona (for people from the UK) in a Super Market or a Restaurant ~ when a Native American Family come in traditional dress. We were in IOWA one year for the Independence Day Fair and several AMISH FAMILIES came in their Buggies ~ in their traditional dress (which the always wear !) America (as you know !) is a very interesting place dresswise ! Brotherly Hugs ~ BRIAN @@@

You did a fabulous piece on these Native Americans! I live near an indian reservation and it is fascinating to see how they live and the goods they make. What I would give to observe these people you wrote about!! Fascinating! Sisterly hugs--Christina

YES CHRIS ~ All Native American are special and they need to be respected and protected and their heritage preserved. It seems to me in the 21st C Th USA has made a special effort to make sure Young People in every State understand their Native American Heritage. The same is true of the Amish & Mennonites and other Spiritual Groups. Other areas such as Jazz ~ Country ~ Blues and all the different Regional Cooking and Art etc is very important to preserve ! We have a chance to study American History in the UK Open University and it is very fascinating. I did a Course on America in the 20th C and my two special areas of study were Country Music and Architecture. At the moment I am preparing talk on JOHN DENVER ~ One of my faves ! Thanks for your comment and thanks for saving it as a fave ! Big Hugs ~ BROTHER ~ Running Deer BRIAN ! @@@@@@@
