As I look out the sky lightens,
The sun slowly pervades the darkness
And rises in front of me.
It showers me with its glorious light
This great sphere of power,
Giving light and life to all.
It rises high into the sky
Looking down on this earth,
The glory of its light
Showing its power,
And its life giving succour.
Slowly it sinks over the horizon
As the day ends,
The reddened sky darkens.
But looking up the brightness remains
As the moon looks down,
Looks down upon me,
And upon my life.
The light in my life is still there,
It never ceases.
Looking past the moon,
The stars shine in glory,
The stars,
Showing the holes in Heavens floor.

I'm looking out at frosted lawns and a clear cobalt blue sky - good to be alive - great write Andy
It certainly is Michael, and may our days keep coming.
Lovely piece. Sometimes we take for granted the beauty of the world around us.
Thank you Ivory, sometimes people do, but it is there for all to see and appreciate.
A beautiful write, Gold!
May we always be attracted to the light in any shape or form! May it be the Sun, the Moon, and/or the Stars! A brilliant write for an illuminating read! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Brii, I am glad that you enjoyed it.
Beautifully discrptive!
I often spend time just gazing at the moon.
It seems to calm my mind, when things are really going crazy in my life.
Well done!

Thank you Resa, yes, looking at the moon can be so contemplative.
The SCRIPTURES tell us that P;anet Earth is blessed with two Perfect Lights for free. The SUN by day which is also a Solar heater ~ at no extra cost ! God knew there would be some nocturnal Activity ~ but also that the majority would be sleeping ! So he created the Moon which would reflect the Sun's light by night ~ MOONLIGHT ! It is much less intense than SUNLIGHT but sufficient for early man (20,000 BC ?) to do the Night Shift ! Because we have so much artificial light we tend to overlook how important MOONLIGHT would have been in 20,000 BC ! Yours BRIAN.
Thank you for your comment Brian.
