AN EARLY STROLL
I walk
slowly.
The grass stretches
and kisses
my feet
with dew.
I feel the sun,
weak
(it’s early)
on my coated back.
The spring
will soon
be here.
Somewhere
a bird sings
from a
yellow beak
pointing
at a cobalt sky.
Today
will be good
but first
I must return.
I am hungry
and breakfast
awaits.

A STROLL is a walk devoid of Aim
Objective & Destination ! I often
Stroll (in Essex) when I'm HAPPY !
Love the riverside setting in the

Thanks for your lyrical comment Brian - pleased you enjoyed your am - we were out late last night retrieving our daughter from hospital - minor op - and taking her home, so we had a lazy morning - this afternoon busy round the house with the other eye on the rugby. Yup - I can multitask !!
Oh the perfect morning (breakfast included)...... especially if it was walking by the view in your painting!
Thanks Lorna - it would be if the sun was out !!
Beautiful pic. The writing was like the stroll, smooth. Thanks!
A gentle poem - we need a few gentle ones on this site - some great work here but it does get a tad sombre at times. thanks rr
Michael,
