Tune: Ewing
('Jerusalem the golden')
Psalm 55 v.16-22
*******
I will call upon the LORD
I will hear Him, His word
And the LORD God shall save me
Whatever time it be
Evening, morning, and noonday
I cry aloud, i pray
And he shall hear my voice sure
Shall help m evermore
He has delivered my soul
In peace from the battle
That was against me, for there
Were many with me fair
God shall hear, and enemies
He shall afflict, He frees
Me from their troubles, for He
Abides from of old, see
Because they have cnages none
They fear not God, each one
Putsf forth their hands against those
Who way of peace have chose
And they do break covenant
From laws they do dissent
Words of their mouth are smoother
Than butter, but evil stirs
Their words were softer than oil
Yet they were drawn swords, foil
But godly, cast your burden
Upon the LORD, find then
That He will e'er sustain you
Shall help you and renew
Shall never suffer righteous
To be moved, but shall bless
