BETWEEN THE ROSES
A rose among the thorns is she
and her young man is so lucky
for what their friends and neighbours know is:
he’s a prick between the roses.

My first smile of the day, thank you Michael.
Brilliant artwork!
Thanks Andy - we have this painting in our living room.
I am not surprised that this painting is there.
It sits alongside another work which I'll post tomorrow.
Oh lol. Good write and pic M.
Thanks Orchi - he fought in the battle of the roses back in 1480 or thereabouts - do you remember him?
Oh yes, I remember him! It was some time after 1066. They let me take part in the battle in 1480, even though I mucked it up in 1066, by saying to Harold' Look up, Sire' at the fateful moment!
Were you Harold's look-out ?
A pleasure greets the eye with the colourful painting and the smile which remains after reading your rhyme - - great stuff Michael.
Thanks Fay

Michael,
Your painting is beautiful!
I love the vibrant colors!
...and she is
“A rose among the thorns...”
Hope he treads lightly!
Your write did make me
smile!
