Never Far Away.

Goldfinch60

I am always here, travelling the world,

Unseen, unknown but never far away.

I see it all; I am here just in case.

There are times when I am so busy,

But my speed is infinite,

So I am never late!

You all know me, but wish you didn’t.

I strike fear and sorrow into all;

And you wish I wasn’t here.

But here I am, hovering; waiting

For you, for everybody!

I have always been here,

Since time began, never changing;

Just waiting for you to come to me;

As you will in time!

DEATH, where is your sting?

I am right behind you!

  • Comment from author about the poem: When I posted my poem "Death Has No Sting" yesterday I replied to Orchidees remark that I would put on a poem about Death that I wrote a few years ago and published on a now extinct website. I wrote this after reading the book and seeing the film "The Book Thief" where Death is the storyteller. My belief in life is represented in what I wrote yesterday.

          Gold,
          I just read your poem from yesterday. A fine write and you are so right! We’re on a journey that will take us into eternity! I admire your optimism! There’s nothing to be afraid of! As my dad would always say, “I’m here! Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready! I’m waiting and well prepared!” He died peacefully!

              He was! We referred
              to him as...
              un Uomo D’ORO...
              a Man of GOLD!

              A excellent write Andy. But I think death has got it all wrong. God awaits us all.

              • Goldfinch60

                Very true, that is what my other poem said, Our Spirit NEVER dies.

                • Accidental Poet

                  Amen to that!

                  Really good Goldfinch..... I've always been aware of death..... some people I know absolutely never think of it and that flabbergasts me..........Love "so I am never late"....... he's good at his job!

                  • Goldfinch60

                    Thank you Lorna, I know that My Spirit will never die so the death of the earthly life never worries me.
